Michael P. Crowley
After graduating from Loyola College in 1994 with concentrations in Business and Communications, Michael joined the consulting division of IT startup LCG Technologies, a Baltimore based technology service provider. In 1996 he was assigned to the firm’s premier client, Kelly & Associates Insurance Group (KAIG), Maryland’s largest administrator of health care benefits. It was here that he directed an in-house technology design team that helped increase and manage KAIG’s annual premiums of 24 million dollars in 1995 to over 800 million in 2004.
For eight years, Michael piloted the team of LCG consultants that designed, developed, and implemented all of the mission-critical applications at KAIG. These feature a 3-tiered client/server application infrastructure, secure Internet-based applications with e-commerce capabilities, 3rd party systems integration, automated electronic interfaces with health provider and financial institutions across the country and an interactive voice response system. By the year 2000 KAIG became one of the first administrator’s nationally to provide health insurance proposals, enrollment and account management via the Internet in a secure manner.
While working as a program developer, database administrator, consultant and network engineer, Michael quickly progressed through the consulting division and became LCG’s Director of IT Applications in 2000. During his tenure at LCG, the company grew from 3 employees to upwards of 80 employees by the year 1999. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional and has over 20 years of systems, technical and management experience in IT technologies concentrating in insurance, manufacturing, finance, and retail. In 2004 Michael’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Baltimore Consulting, an IT consulting firm.
