James J. Barbour
Jim graduated from Lehigh University in 1988 with concentrations in Finance and Computer Science. He became the Controller of F&S Oil Company in Connecticut and for 11 years was in charge of accounting, financials, management reporting, payroll, banking, audit reviews and purchasing. Jim’s interest in information technology peaked and he began to manage the computer and software systems, providing employee training and remote office support.
The Internet boom led Jim to Orlando, Florida where he joined Petroleum Software Systems, a division of EDS, in 1998. Jim directed the implementation of accounting software systems on client sites in the energy market throughout the Northeast, USA. EDS sold Petroleum Software Systems to Advanced Digital Data in November of 1999 where Jim became a key player in the Y2K implementation and rollout of new operating systems to Agway Energy at over 70 plant locations throughout the country.
In 2000, Jim joined LCG Technologies, a Baltimore based technology service provider, where he became involved with the firms premier client, Kelly & Associates Insurance Group (KAIG). Jim immediately played a critical role in the design and development of the client’s secure Internet applications. In 2001, he began an office automation project which propelled KAIG to a digital environment featuring fax server to image, scanning, automated business rules and form processing within departments, online integration and executive management reporting. Today, KAIG has completely integrated systems, automated EDI transfer between clients and major insurance carriers throughout the country, and is capable of processing thousands of enrollment documents daily. In 2004, Jim Barbour and Michael Crowley co-founded Baltimore Consulting, an IT consulting firm.
As Vice President of Baltimore Consulting, Jim has directed many projects for a wide variety of clients in several industries. Some of the larger clients include those from Health Care and Insurance Administration [Kelly and Associates Insurance Group], Insurance Reconcilation [Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences], Payroll Processing [KTBSPayroll], Payroll Timefile Integrations [ADP, Paychex, TimeForce, Labor Strategies, Advantek, Cybershift, Micros and others], Professional Speaking [Steve Rizzo], Credit and Collections, Video Forensics [Primeau Productions], Audio Forensics [Audio Forensic Expert], Limousine Transportation [LimoCar Orlando], Workers Compensation Integrations [The Hartford, Great West, John Hancock], FMLA Administration [The Hartford], Real Estate, Funeral Services [Our Aftercare] and the Printing Industry [Digital Color Graphics internal inventory application].
